Rinse containers before recycling them to avoid bad smells and attraction of pests.

Do not put anything more glass in the recycling bin. The glass used for mirrors, glassware, etc. has components that cannot be mixed with normal glass.

Make some money with their glass bottles. Find out if your State has a law on payment of bottles and if you can get money by recycling them.

Reuse and recycling of Textiles

This is the hardest part: stop and ask yourself if you really need or not this new garment in your closet.

If you really need a new garment, consider second hand stores to update your wardrobe. Save! You can often find excellent articles in local stores for much less than what you would pay for a new article.

Sell the clothes that you no longer need on eBay or take it to a consignment shop. If you don’t have time, donate the clothes to charity like Goodwill, Salvation Army or Dress sites for Success.

Perform clothing exchange networks with colleagues, friends and family, and donate excess clothing to charity.

Do you need to buy new clothing? Choose organic cotton. Most of the cotton is grown in arid locations and with excessive use of pesticides. 1,320 gallons of water are needed to produce a pound of cotton, so you can significantly lower your water footprint by buying less.
